Proud Mama Presents: "A Day in the Life" by Greg Bossert

The kids are back at school, and I'm having a 'Proud Mama' moment! You see, my fifteen-year-old son is a budding filmmaker.
Greg's interest in making films began a couple of months ago, when my husband and I bought him a video camera and some editing software. This interest soon turned into a passion, and Greg now takes his camera everywhere, tapes miles of footage, then spends hours in his room laying tracks and editing.

Dolphins in Dubai

It was chaos! All over Europe, people were rummaging through their drawers, frantically searching for their long johns, their thermal vests, their wooly knickers, their caps and gloves. The big chill had dug in its icy talons, dumping unusual amounts of snow on unsuspecting innocents, and catching thousands of ill-equipped motorists off-guard.

CURB YOUR CHRISTMAS ENTHUSIASM!

Maybe it was something they ate. Maybe they got out of bed on the wrong side. Most likely it's just a sign of their teenaged times. All I know is that it came as a shock. You see, yesterday, for the first time in memory, the Prescott children suddenly declared themselves far too busy to partake in decorating the Christmas tree.

Meet Mona Risk

Today I'd like to introduce my friend Mona Risk, whose life itself reads like the most exciting of romances! Mona has just released her latest book, "RX For Trust", the first of a new series called "Doctor's Orders". If, like me, you can't get enough of series such as Grey's Anatomy and ER (wish it hadn't ended!), you're bound to enjoy Mona's stories.

He recently published his thoughts on "Mucho Caliente!"...so fasten your seatbelts and free your mind!

A Bold and Beautiful Confession

I have a confession to make. It's a little embarrassing, although it shouldn't be, because clearly I'm not the only one on the planet to look forward to my daily dose of cheese. No, I'm not talking edible fromage; heaven knows I'm not impartial to a nice nibble of French Morbier, or a chunk of English Cheddar after dinner. I'm talking about cheesy entertainment. You see, I'm addicted to 'Top Models', better known throughout the world as 'The Bold and the Beautiful'.

Cornwall

Eighteen years ago, after visiting my late grandmother on the outskirts of the New Forest, I travelled to Cornwall with my husband for a little holiday. We took our time heading west; I was in the first trimester of my first pregnancy and suffering from a constant nausea that was only relieved by constantly nibbling on Graham crackers. In fact, if the big cheeses at Graham headquarters noticed a distinct increase in their sales in the autumn of 1991, I'd like them to know that it was all thanks to me.

Besos de Ibiza

I've been away. Actually, to be perfectly honest, I've been back a couple of weeks, but I've been busy with family stuff. Some good, some not so good. That's life, right?

But being away was wonderful. Mr. Prescott treated me to a perfect week, in a perfect place, on my favourite island. Yes, we went to Ibiza...again! This time, however, for the first time ever, we stayed in a hotel, which meant I didn't have to do anything boring like shop for food, or cook, or even fold my pjs. All I had to do was kick back (do people still say 'kick back'?!) and enjoy.

Lucky in Love

Twenty years! That's how long Mr Prescott and I have been married. Does it seem like a long time? The concept of twenty years sounds like forever, but frankly, two decades have zipped by. Suddenly, our baby daughter is a beautiful young woman with only a year left at school, and our tiny son is a handsome young teenager who, when he isn't at school, is defying gravity at local skate-parks, or hanging out by the lake with his buddies. In a few more years, my husband and I will be the only occupants of the Prescott household. Does time fly? Pfff...

Whether I've been gone five minutes or five hours, he still gives me the same special welcome. He stands on his hind legs, paws the air for a while, and when he finally lands he opens his mouth wide and voices a loud "Hellloooooo"! What does it sound like? Kind of like a cross between a yawn and a happy howl...

CELIA YEARY - "All my Hopes and Dreams"

How about a little western romance? It's hardly surprising that my friend Celia Yeary's debut novel has been on The Wild Rose Press' bestselling list for months. "All my Hopes and Dreams" is romantic, funny and deliciously old-fashioned. Her feisty heroine, Cynthia Harrington, reminded me of Scarlett O'Hara. As for Ricardo Romero... Well, who can resist a sexy Latino on horseback!

It was yet another cold, snowy day. Visibility was virtually non-existent, and as an added bonus, an arctic wind was walloping Switzerland's ski slopes, torturing my sister's chapped, magenta cheeks with a heavenly supply of ice shards as the chairlift shuddered up the mountain. Her long, dark brown hair poked out from beneath her black wooly hat in rigid, frozen tufts. Hunched over her ski poles, rigid with cold beneath her orange Gortex suit, my sister suddenly felt the relentless tickle of mucus tormenting the tip of her nose.

FABULOUS NEW REVIEW FOR "MUCHO CALIENTE!"

"Gemma Talbot is like every woman I know. From time to time she questions her judgement and her insecurities. She is forced to take a good hard look at herself and her passions when she meets Emilio, a dreamy latin superstar. Emilio is tired of the superstar lifestyle and not knowing who cares about him just for himself or for his fame. When he meets Gemma, he finds passion and friendship in the quirky, sexy, passionate woman he comes to know."

WILL YOU HELP MAKE ME A ROCK STAR?

Drew6's new album, WE KISS, is now on sale on I-Tunes. It's a brilliant album, greatly enhanced, of course, by my twenty-second guest appearance on their cover of Blondie's classic track, 'Call Me.'

THE BEAUTY OF RECYCLING...CHANDELIERS!

There's a funky glass chandelier hanging above my dining room table. It's big, it's bold, and -in my humble opinion at least - it's beautiful. We've had it for years, so the regular guests of the Prescott household rarely comment on it anymore. But whenever anybody new comes for dinner, you can bet your best knickers my chandelier will come up in the conversation.

ARE WE COOL YET?

When my brother-in-law recently went to pick up his ten-year old daughter Giovanna at a birthday party, he found her cavorting on top of a loudspeaker, strutting her stuff à la go-go dancer. Amused and a little surprised, my brother-in-law waved at her. Giovanna smiled and waved back, totally unfazed, then fired off a succession of dance moves of a "High School Musical" caliber.

The Sweet Smell of Smurfcess

It was my birthday last Sunday. How old am I now? Dream on! All I'm willing to reveal is that in the past decade, the state of my eyesight can no longer be associated with regal birds featuring giant wing spans. Nowadays, without my glasses, my sight is reminiscent of nocturnal flying rodents with inverted sleeping habits.
